A semi-translucent textile surface engineered to appear opaque under normal lighting and reveal controlled graphic illumination when backlit. It adapts the visual language of leather or woven fabric into a light-permeable surface, allowing product teams to combine a soft-touch finish with hidden ambient lighting.

What does it offer in application?

It provides an alternative to rigid translucent plastic panels when a product needs a softer and more crafted surface quality. The material can sit as a continuous cover layer over a shaped substrate, helping soften perceived hardness while enabling patterned light-through details. Depending on finish and construction, it can also support practical surface requirements such as water and stain resistance.

Where can this material be used?

It is well suited to automotive interiors, mobility cabins, smart furniture and robotic or device surfaces where light should appear from within the material rather than from an exposed component. Sensor-Integrated Yarn Textile

A smart textile route that integrates conductive sensing media into the yarn structure, rather than adding a separate sensor patch after the fabric is made. The yarn can be woven, knitted or blended into textile constructions to detect pressure, stretch, temperature, humidity and other physical changes, then convert them into electrical signals for unobtrusive monitoring.

What does it change compared with conventional sensors?

Instead of mounting electronics onto the surface, sensing is embedded at the textile level. This helps preserve a familiar fabric appearance, hand feel and flexibility while opening up a larger sensing area. It is better suited to soft goods and curved product surfaces than discrete hard sensor modules, although performance still needs to be validated against wash, bend, stretch and signal stability requirements.

Electroluminescent Yarn Textile

A textile surface that integrates electroluminescent yarn to create light directly within the fabric structure. Instead of adding a separate LED strip, light guide or display layer, the surface itself can deliver soft luminous cues for standby states, notifications, status changes or expressive interaction.

How is it different from LED-based light fibers?

Compared with LED-based light-fiber solutions, electroluminescent yarn can create a more continuous illuminated line with fewer visible hot spots or dark gaps. The yarn remains relatively fine and flexible, making it easier to integrate into soft textile constructions. Final suitability should be checked against brightness, power, driver, durability, bending and washability requirements.
